Exercise 2_6 evaluating web resources.
For this exercise I looked at several different sites associated with Apple
computers but could not decide on a suitable candidate so I used a search
engine called google to select a site
for me.
This site is aimed at the Apple enthusiast,
Apple being a niche market this is only to be expected, having said that
there is information here for all levels of user from gamers, people wanting
general news and add-ons to interest such as Seti@home
(using your computers idle time to search for extraterrestrial intelligence).
Navigation around the site is quite good with plenty of links,
but you do need to visit several times to get orientated but this is because
the style of the site is news and there is a lot of information available.
I could not find details of the authors of the site but you have to
assume that they are Mac enthusiasts, however some of the reviews of both
hardware and software are quite critical, so I think the site is reliable
and honest.
So in conclusion I would say that this site is well balanced and of
good use to a Mac user.
